Why Do Dota 2 Players Keep Getting Matched With Smurfs?
Staff-created draftAnyone else feel like matchmaking sometimes puts you against someone who clearly has much more experience than the rest of the lobby?
Not saying every good player is a smurf, obviously.
But there are matches where the difference in mechanics and decision-making is just ridiculous.
How do you usually tell the difference between a genuinely talented player and someone playing on an alternate account?

Illustrative experiencesOne good game doesn't mean anything. Some people just have really good games sometimes.
Look at consistency. Their map decisions, farming patterns and mechanical execution can tell you more than their KDA.
It's best not to accuse someone based on a single match. Use the game's reporting tools when you have a genuine concern.
